  RUNWAY AND TAXIWAY OVERLAY AND AIRFIELD LIGHTING SYSTEM REVISION
AT UBON RATCHATHANI AIRPORT (VTUU)

1  INTRODUCTION

With effect from 1 October 2026 at 0100 UTC until 30 June 2027 at 2300 UTC, runway and taxiway overlay works and airfield lighting system revision will take place at Ubon Ratchathani Airport.

2  DETAILS

2.1 Construction works will be carried out on RWY 05/23 and associated taxiways, including revision of the airfield lighting system.
2.2 During the construction period, portions of RWY 05 and RWY 23 will be temporarily closed.
2.2.1 A portion of RWY 05 extending 500 m from THR RWY 05 will be closed. The remaining runway available for overlay works is approximately 2,500 m.
2.2.2 A portion of RWY 23 extending 500 m from THR RWY 23 will be closed. The remaining runway available for overlay works is approximately 2,500 m.
2.3 During the construction period, declared distances will be revised as follows.

Remark: For departures entering RWY 05 via TWY A, the TORA is 1,950 m and the ASDA is 2,010 m.
CONSTRUCTION PHASE 2:
With effect from 1 October 2026 at 0100 UTC until 30 October 2026 at 2300 UTC, for a period of 30 days.

Remark: For departures entering RWY 05 via TWY A, the TORA is 1,450 m and the ASDA is 1,450 m.
CONSTRUCTION PHASE 3:
With effect from 2 November 2026 at 0100 UTC until 30 June 2027 at 2300 UTC, for a period of 240 days.
2.4 Temporary Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPIs) will be installed during the runway overlay works as follows:
2.4.1 A temporary Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) for RWY 05 will be installed on the left side of the runway at a distance of 342 m from the displaced threshold.
2.4.2 A temporary Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) for RWY 23 will be installed on the left side of the runway at a distance of 333 m from the displaced threshold.
2.5 During the runway construction works, aircraft are permitted to backtrack on the RWY 05/23

4  VALIDITY

This AIRAC AIP Supplement will remain current until 30 June 2027 at 2300 UTC. Operational restrictions during the construction period will be promulgated by NOTAM.
