  RESTRICTION ON TURN PAD AT THE END OF RUNWAY 21
AT MAE FAH LUANG-CHIANG RAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (VTCT)

1  INTRODUCTION

This AIRAC AIP Supplement purpose is to inform airline operators and pilots of the restriction on Runway turn pad at the end of Runway 21 at Mae Fah Luang -Chiang Rai International Airport, effect from 2 October 2025 at 0000 UTC.

2  180-DEGREE TURN RESTRICTION ON TURN PAD AT THE END OF RUNWAY 21

2.1 Aircraft using Runway 21 for arrival or Runway 03 for departure with Code Letter C or higher shall perform a 180-degree turn on the runway turn pad located at the end of Runway 21 to prevent pavement damage, which may result in aerodrome closure if the damage is severe.
2.2 The runway turn pad at the end of Runway 21 is intended for use only by aircraft with an Outer Main Gear Wheel Span (OMGWS) of less than 9 metres and is available for certain aircraft types as listed below:

Remark: Aircraft exceeding this specification shall use only Runway 03 for landing and Runway 21 for take-off. The taxi routes for arriving at and departing from the aerodrome will be advised by the air traffic control unit instructions.

2.3 Any breach committed by an aircraft operator shall be recorded and reported to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand and the operator’s headquarters, and the operator shall be liable for compensation resulting from such violation.
