  OPENING OF NEW PRIVATE JET TERMINAL, APRON, AIRCRAFT PARKING STANDS, HANGAR AND TAXIWAY AT PHUKET INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (VTSP)

1  INTRODUCTION

This section supplements the following portion(s) of the AIP: AD

1.1  With effect from 24 February 2022 at 0000 UTC, The purpose of this AIRAC AIP Supplement is to inform all concerned of the new Private Jet Terminal which is available for operational use at Phuket International Airport.

1.2  The opening areas are including Private Jet Terminal, Apron E, Aircraft Parking Stands, Hangar and Taxiway K.

2  LOCATION OF PRIVATE JET TERMINAL AND HANGAR

2  Located at 08 06 55.63N 098 18 34.51E, north of Aerodrome. (as shown in attachment A)

3  DETAILS OF APRON

3.1  Designation: Apron E

3.2  Type of Apron: Remote parking

3.3  Surface Type: Concrete

3.4  Strength: PCN 57/R/C/W/T

3.5  Refuelling Service: JET A-1 and AVGAS by trailer

3.6  Type of aircraft parking: Nose-in aircraft parking

3.7  No Visual Docking Guidance System-VDGS available. Marshaller shall guide aircraft to the parking position.

3.8  Aircraft can be parked for overnight parking and layover.

4  DETAILS OF AIRCRAFT PARKING STANDS

4.1  The aircraft parking stand coordinates are as follows:

4.2  The aircraft parking stand no. 52 (52L, 52R) and 53 (53L, 53R) are Multiple Aircraft Ramp System (MARS).

4.3  Taxilane is located behind aircraft stand no. 52 - 54. The distance between centre line of taxilane and aircraft tail limit line is 23 M.

5  DETAILS OF TAXIWAY

5.1  Designation: Taxiway K

5.2  Position: Portion connected from Runway 09/27 and Apron E

5.3  Surface Type: Asphalt

5.4  Strength: PCN 53/F/C/X/T

5.5  Width: 20 M

5.6  Marking and Lighting System:

TWY Marking: Centre Line, Edge and RWY Holding Position

TWY Lights: TWY Edge Lights

6  PARKING PROCEDURES

Aircraft Parking Stand NumberParking Instruction
51Aircraft shall enter aircraft parking stand via Taxiway “K” by using idle power and follow marshaller.
52L, 52, 52R, 53L, 53, 53R and 54Aircraft shall taxi to “basic marshaller and towing stop line” (as shown in attachment B) via Taxiway “K” by follow marshaller then shut down engine and enter to aircraft parking stand by towing only.

6  Remark: - No aircraft shall taxi on its own into the aircraft stand/basic marshaller and towing stop line without the marshaller.

- Simultaneous push back from adjacent stands is not permitted.

7  TAXI PROCEDURES

7.1  Departures (as shown in attachment C-1)

7.1.1  Runway 09 in use: aircraft shall taxi via Taxiway K then enter and taxi down on runway to vacate at Taxiway B and taxi via Taxiway P, A to holding point runway 09 or as directed by ATC.

(For aircraft departure from intersection Taxiway K, runway remaining distance is 2340 M)

7.1.2  Runway 27 in use: aircraft shall taxi via Taxiway K then enter and taxi down on runway to vacate at Taxiway B and taxi via Taxiway P, G to holding point runway 27 or as directed by ATC.

(For aircraft departure from intersection Taxiway G, runway remaining distance is 2500 M)

7.2  Arrivals (as shown in attachment C-2)

7.2.1  Runway 09 in use: aircraft shall be vacating runway via Taxiway F and taxi via Taxiway P, B then enter and taxi down on runway to vacate at Taxiway K or as directed by ATC.

7.2.2  Runway 27 in use: aircraft shall be vacating runway via Taxiway K or as directed by ATC.

7  Remark: Due to the physical characteristic limitation of Apron E and in order to facilitate a flow traffic movement into and out of Apron E;

- Departing aircraft may be delayed at the apron for arriving aircraft to enter the apron or, depending on traffic condition.

- Arriving aircraft may be delayed on any TWY or RWY holding position as directed by ATC for departing aircraft to taxi out from Apron E.

8  PUSH BACK AND START-UP PROCEDURES

51Aircraft shall be pushed back in south direction until nose gear is on “apron safety line” then swing aircraft nose forward in easterly direction facing south and tow to release point at Taxiway “K”. (as shown in attachment D)
52L, 52, 52R, 53L, 53, 53R and 54Aircraft shall be pushed back face to east until nose gear is on "apron safety line” of parking stand no. 51 then tow to release point at Taxiway “K”. (as shown in attachment D)

8  Remark: - Pilots shall contact ATC for start-up engine when aircraft is at release point.

- Pilots are reminded that no engine start-up is permitted on Apron E. The engines shall be allowed to start-up when push back procedure is completed (tow bar has been disconnected) and aircraft is aligned with the Taxiway “K”.

- Area of Apron E is the blind spot area. Aircraft are to manoeuvre by push back procedures and pilot discretion.

10  This AIRAC AIP Supplement will remain current until the information is incorporated into AIP Thailand. Any changes to this AIRAC AIP Supplement will be notified through NOTAM.
