  TEMPORARY WITHDRAWAL OF MAE HONG SON DVOR/DME AT MAE HONG SON AIRPORT

  INTRODUCTION

This section supplements the following portion(s) of the AIP: AD

  With effect from 4 May 2020 at 0100 UTC to 10 September 2020 at 0001 UTC, temporary withdrawal of Mae Hong Son (MHS) DVOR/DME at Mae Hong Son airport details are as follows.

  THE PERIOD OF TEMPORARY WITHDRAWAL

  MHS DVOR/DME at Mae Hong Son airport will be temporarily withdrawn from 4 May 2020 at 0100 UTC to 10 September 2020 at 0001 UTC.

  FLIGHT PROCEDURE

  Temporary reporting point name KAKTA (191910.73N 0975443.50E) will be established at the same coordinate of MHS DVOR/DME for ATS route W9 and W36 due to MHS DVOR/DME under withdrawal until MHS DVOR/DME resume normal operation.

To maintain efficiency of ATS and facilitate Non-RNAV 5 capability aircraft operation during MHS DVOR/DME under withdrawal, conventional ATS route within Bangkok FIR as follows;

  1. W9 between MHS and CMA

  2. W36 between MHS and MACHI

and will be temporary upgraded to RNAV 5 Navigation specification.

  FLIGHT PLANNING PROCEDURE

  Flight planning procedures for Non-RNAV5 capacity aircraft shall file flight plan as follows;

Remark: Aircraft may request radar vectoring or suggestion from ATC. All aircraft shall be equipped with a functional surveillance transponder.
