AT SURAT THANI AIRPORT (VTSB)

1  INTRODUCTION

This section supplements the following portion(s) of the AIP: AD

1  With effect from 11 July 2024 at 0000 UTC to 31 August 2024 at 1700 UTC, this AIP Supplement is to inform all concerned of retractable hook-cable support system adjustment of runway 04/22 at Surat Thani airport. The details are as follows:

2  DETAILS

2.1  Location: Runway 04 will be closed for distance is 462 metres beyond threshold runway 04, the period of closure is from 11 July 2024
at 2300 UTC to 15 July 2024 at 1700 UTC.

2.1.1  The declared distances for the remaining portion of Runway 04 are as follows:

2.1.2  The layout of construction area at Runway 04 is shown below.


2.2  Location: Runway 22 will be closed for distance is 467 metres beyond threshold runway 22, the period of closure is from 15 July 2024
at 1701 UTC to 31 August 2024 at 1700 UTC.

2.2.1  The declared distances for the remaining portion of Runway 22 are as follows:

2.2.2  The layout of construction area at Runway 22 is shown below.


2.3  The period of construction: 24 HR.

2.4  The construction area will be blocked off by barricades painted in an alternate band of red and white or orange and white, the barricades will be lighted by omni-directional fixed red lights and orange and white checkered flags.

2.5  Vehicles and machinery operating in the airside are required to equip 90 x 90 cm. orange and white checkered flags or flashing lights. Personnel in the worksite are required to wear a jacket vest with reflective material and a safety helmet.

2.6  All personnel and vehicles require permission to enter and exit the designated areas.

2.7  All construction equipment will be kept clear during aircraft arrival and departure operations.

2.8  Pilots are required to follow instructions of air traffic controller (ATC) throughout the construction period.

3  PRECAUTIONS

3.1  BAK-14 for RWY 04/22 will be unserviceable during construction period.

3.2  PAPI for RWY 04/22 will be unserviceable during construction period, but can be used temporary PAPI (Mobile PAPI).

5  This AIRAC AIP Supplement supersedes NOTAM A1235/24 (C1838/24) and will remain current until 31 August 2024 at 1700 UTC. Any changes to this AIRAC AIP Supplement will be notified through NOTAM.
