This section supplements the following portion(s) of the AIP: AD
1 With effect from 16 December 2022 at 0130 UTC to 6 May 2023 at 1000 UTC, the purpose of this AIP Supplement is to inform all concerned of the installation of automated weather observing systems (AWOS) at Runway18/36 at Lampang Airport (VTCL). The details are as follows:
2.1 The details of the AWOS installation at Runway18/36 are indicated below:
2.1.1 AWOS18 will be installed 300 metres to the South of runway threshold 18 and 90 metres to the West of the runway centreline. (18°16'31.91''N 099°30'10.65''E)
2.1.2 AWOS36 will be installed 279 metres to the North of runway threshold 36 and 115 metres to the West of the runway centreline. (18°15'55.95''N 099°30'12.85''E)
2.2 The installation works will be performed daily between 0130 -1000 UTC except when scheduled flights are operated.
2.3 Throughout the installation period, all vehicles and machinery in the site will be equipped with 90 x 90 cm orange and white checkered flags or flashing yellow lights. Personnel in the site are required to wear a reflective safety vest to meet safety requirements.
2.4 All working personnel and vehicles require permission from the authorized airport officer to enter and exit at the designated areas.
2.5 Throughout the installation period, flight operators shall be advised by air traffic controller (ATC) to operate flights.
2.6 Throughout the installation period, VTCL shall inform flight operators of declared emergency, if any, at least 30 minutes before landing.
2.7 The charts related to the installation project are attached herewith.
